Description:

◆ The proposed Air Separation Plant employs a compression process in which air is purified by molecular sieve at normal temperature, booster expansion turbine is used to produce refrigerating capacity, structural packing is applied and argon is extracted through full rectification.

◆ Following the elimination of dust and other mechanical impurities from process air in air filter (AF), the process air enters air compressor where it is compressed to a certain pressure, and then it is fed into air precooling system to be pre-cooled

◆ Air which fed out of air pre-cooling system enters the alternately-operated molecular sieve adsorbers (MS) where such impurities contained in air as moisture, CO2 and C2H2 etc. are adsorbed.

◆ The purified air is divided into three streams: one stream is fed out to be instrument air; another stream enters main heat exchanger (E1) to be cooled to the saturated temperature by reflux gas and then enters lower column (C1); the rest, of which its content is similar with swelling capacity, enters booster to be boosted, and then enters main heat exchanger (E1) after it is cooled, then it is fed out of the middle portion and fed into expander (ET), part of the expanded air is fed into upper column. Following preliminary rectification in lower column, the liquid air is obtained from the bottom of lower column and the liquid nitrogen is obtained from the top. Liquid air and liquid nitrogen drawn from lower column enter liquid air/liquid nitrogen subcooler (E2) to be subcooled and then it is fed into relevant position of upper column. Following further rectification, gaseous oxygen and liquid oxygen are obtained from the bottom of upper column. After re-warmed in main heat exchanger, gaseous oxygen is fed out of cold box as the product, and sent to oxygen compressor to be compressed to required pressure.

◆ The pure nitrogen gas drawn from the top of upper column goes out of cold box after it is re-warmed in subcooler and main heat exchanger.

◆ The waste nitrogen gas drawn from the upper portion of upper column after it is re-warmed in subcooler and main heat exchanger, it goes out of cold box to meet the need of regeneration gas of molecular sieve first, and the rest is discharged.
