Process Description:

On the base of different desorption methods, the VPSA has two different processes:

1, PSA process: pressurization adsorption (0.2~0.6MPa), normal pressure desorption. For PSA process, the equipment is simple, investment is small, but the nitrogen obtain efficiency is low, and the energy consumption is high, it is applicable to the small-scale nitrogen generation situation (normally<200m3/h).

2, VPSA process: adsorb under normal pressure or a little higher than normal (0~50KPa), and vacuumizing (-50~-80KPa) desorb. Compared with PSA process, for VPSA process, equipment is complex, investment is high, but the efficient is high, and energy consumption is low, it is applicable to the big-scale nitorgen generation situation.

Regarding to actual separation process, it must consider other trace component in the air. Normally CO2 and moisture have much more strong adsorption capacity on the common adsorbent than nitrogen and oxygen, and appropriate adsorbent can be added in the adsorption bed (or make use of the oxygen generation adsorbent) to adsorb and clean CO2 and moisture.
