Description:

The proposed plant employs a process in which air is purified by molecular sieve and refrigerated by refrigeration boosting turbine single expander.

The feed air sucked through air intake is cleaned of dust and other mechanical impurities in air filter AF and compressed to a pressure by air compressor. The compressed air flows into air precooling system for temperature to be reduced.

The air comes from the air precooling system flows into switched molecular sieve adsorber where such impurities as moisture, CO2, C2H2 and other impurities are adsorbed by molecular sieve.

The purified air is divided into 2 streams: one stream to be as instrument air, and another stream enters the boosting end of expander to be boosted, and then enters main heat exchanger to be cooled. When the air is cooled to 252.2K, it enters the chiller to be cooled to 243K, and then it enters the main heat exchanger. The cooled gas is divided into two streams: one stream enters the expander to be expanded, and part of expanded air is as refluxed air goes back to the front of feed air compressor after rewarmed in main heat exchanger; another part of air is continuously cooled to liquefaction in the main heat exchanger, and the liquefaction air out of heat exchanger enters into gas-liquid separator, and then it is sent to the liquid air storage system after being throttled.
